Sytemic ritual
First, a few websites with information that is directly related to my work, in various ways:
www.surya-music.com
Many people who have seen my drum in a seminar wanted to buy a similar one. This is the place to go! The site is in German, but Thomas and Carolina will respond to English or Dutch when you mail them. You can discuss with them what the size of the drum should be and what kind of skin you want on it. I recommend horse! They already have sold more than a hundred drums to people who ordered them after seeing my drum.
Their drums are plain and have no images on them: the drums that I use were painted by myself.
www.cdbaby.com
A distributor of downloads of all kinds of indepent music productions. Here you can find the work of many talented and inspiring musicians. Two of my CD’s are available through them as downloads : Side by Side / Samuch and Walk around the Sun.
www.isca-network.org
The International system constellations asociation is a world wide network of people committed to developing constellation work in all its many forms in a spirit of mutual respect and cooperation. It is an active community with different branches. One of ISCA’s activities is a yearly international training week with well known senior constellation leaders that attracts people from over the whole globe. This particular program has its own site: www.constellations-intensive.de
http://www.familienaufstellung.org/
This is the German site of the DGfS, the German association for system constellations. They are the German sister organization of ISCA and promote systemic constellations in its many forms. They have organized conferences and do a lot of networking. I have contributed to the last three issues of their magazine Praxis der Systemaustellung. To go there, click on ‘zeitschrift’.
www.theknowingfield.co.uk
A magazine based in the UK with a truly international orientation that will keep you updated about recent developments in constellation work world wide. I am one of the many people who contribute regularly.
www.jcfstatement.com
In March 2009, there was a conference of constellation leaders with a jewish background in Vienna, which was organized for various reasons, one of the to discuss recent developments in the field of constellations. One of the results of the conference is this statement, which was signed by more than 30 constellation leaders. The statement expresses concern at the way Bert and Marie-Sophie Hellinger have been dealing with some issues. I am one of the people who signed it.
The ghost in your genes
A fascinating documentary presenting the first medical scientific proof of transgenerational transmission of trauma which causes disease in later generations. Everybody involved in systemic work knows this is a fact of life, but this is the first time science can support it.
Personal growth
For my own personal development I use a variety of techniques and methods. Here a few of the most important ones:
www.ridhwan.org
In order to balance my life as a teacher and facilitator, I have to make sure I continue to be a student somewhere. In the ridhwan school you become a member of an ongoing group that meets regularly for retreats under the guidance of excellent teachers. I have experienced many types of growth work, and in my experience the ridhwan school offers the most balanced and mature psychological/spiritual program for self development.
http://delos-inc.com
Hal Stone’s and Sidra Winkelman’s Voice Dialogue is a wonderful method to explore and balance the dynamics of the many inner voices we all have inside of us. It is related to constellation work in many ways, but here the client represents all his/her own inner voices and energy patterns him/herself. This site provides basic information about the method, its founders and has links to facilitators worldwide.
Sexuality
I once read the results of an interesting antropological research in which the relationship between shamanism and sexuality in traditional societies was studied. People who desperately wanted to be shamans but who did not get the recogniztion of their tribe because they were considered unfit for the job had less sex than average, and the people who were recognized shamansm who had a good reputation had more sex than average. Apparently there really is a relationship between shamanism and sexuality! So, I added a few links:
www.gaylovespirit.com / http://authenticeros.com/
The men behind Gay Love Spirit and Authentic Eros have developed a combination of methods, workshops and trainings which they offer to gay men. This is not an adaptation from regular tantra work that was developed by and for straight people, on the contrary: it is developed by and for gay men only and it has it’s own distinct qualities. Radical in its directness, gentle in its invitations, at the same time raw and graceful, powerfully ecstatic, wonderfully supportive.
http://www.centrumvoortantra.nl/
The center for tantra and intimacy offers programs for heterosexual men and women. I know many of their trainers personally, and they all do their work with great integrity and care.
http://www.gaytantra.nl/
The men of gay tantra Netherlands got to know the work via the above center, and at some point became an independant organization.
http://www.love4couples.com/
Puja/Diana and Raja/Michael Richardson offer groups for straight couples who want to deepen their experience of sex within the partnership. For many years I keep hearing only very good things about their work. Like me they are regualr guest teachers in the Waldhaus center in Zwitserland, their groups there always have waiting lists.
Inspiration
Sometimes you find something on the web that really touches you, or simply makes you feel good. Here just a few or my favorites:
Free hugs : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vr3x_RRJdd4
After this video started to circulate, a whole movement wat created. Now, when you are in some large city somewhere, occasionally you see people holding up boards with ‘free hugs’ – always I jump into their arms immedeately! This is how that started.
Where the hell is Matt?
I can identify with the maker of this funny and touching brief film.
When I come home from a trip somewhere, after sharing wonderful experiences with people in the groups, immedeatly packing for another trip… And then another… If it plays jerkily, click the HD button once, it will get better.
http://www.antonyandthejohnsons.com/
Anthony is a singer/performer who does not fit in any kind of box. A transgender being with a soul so bare it sometimes seems to me as if he has no skin. His voice is exceptionally powerful and unusual. Watch this amazing performance of ‘Crazy in love’. I was present with a few friends at the concert where this was recorded – an unforgetable experience. My friend Sifra said afterwards: “If Anthony is possible, everything is possible.” I agree. If ‘Crazy in love’ does not get to you, go to the second link and hear his version of Bob Dylan’s ‘Knocking on heaven’s door’ to have another experience of his genius.
Crazy in love : www.youtube.com/watch?v=O0ob52GyXl4
Knocking on heavens door :www.youtube.com/watch?v=S-I-p5F-D2E&feature=related
www.jigzone.com
Here you find thousands of jigsaw puzzles in all kinds of categories. This is really a wonderful site to use when are sitting behind your computer while you are going through a really boring telephone call! Make sure you switch of the sound of the computer because each time you place a piece of a puzzle in the right place it gives a weird little sound, and the boring person you have to listen to might hear that you are doing something else while they are talking...
Charity
A part of the money I make in the groups goes to charity. Here are the links to a few of the organizations that I (used to or still) support:
http://www.theparentscircle.com/
This site will take you to the parents circle, a group devoted to bringing peace in the Middle East. Their programs and activities are organized by and for Palestinian and Jewish parents and families who lost a child or loved one because of the ongoing violence. A courageous initiative.
www.whitebison.org
The wellbriety movement challenges American mainstream culture’s stereotypes and ideas about alcoholism and drug abuse of Native Americans. They educate and offer programs which include their own historical perspectives, tribal wisdom and respect.
www.wspa-international.org
I support the WSPA in their efforts to improve the sad life of dancing and fighting bears, and in their work in China. There, hunderds of bears are slowly dying in factories while the gall is being drained out of their gall bladders through tubes. The gall will then be used in traditional medicines.
http://www.doctorswithoutborders.org/offices/?ref=main-menu
Doctors without borders / Medicins sans frontieres is an international organization that offers medical aid to victims of war, refugees and people fleeing natural disasters. Compared to similar organizations, their ethics and political responsibility are relatively high, so I support them.
Facilitators of Systemic Ritual®
Here you find the names of some people who have done a two year training group in systemic ritual with me. They all have experience in other disciplines as well, most have been family constellation leader or shamanic practitioner for some time. Each of them has integrated elements of systemic ritual in another way in their work, they all have their own style.
